Cast iron pulleys are a common component of lifting machinery, mainly made of cast iron material and available in various types, including gray cast iron pulleys and ductile iron pulleys. The advantage of cast iron pulleys is that they have less wear on steel wire ropes. This is because cast iron has good fluidity during casting and relatively fewer casting defects, making it an ideal material for making crane pulleys. However, cast iron pulleys also have some drawbacks, such as the tendency for gray cast iron pulleys to shatter, the tendency for wheel rims to break, and a relatively short lifespan, making them more commonly used in lower working levels. In contrast, ductile iron pulleys have higher strength and impact toughness, making them suitable for cranes with higher working levels.
Cast iron pulleys have a wide range of applications, including but not limited to ports, electricity, steel, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, mining, railways, construction, metallurgy, automobile manufacturing, plastic machinery, industrial control, highways, large-scale transportation, pipeline laying, slope tunnels, wellbore treatment and protection, coastal rescue, marine engineering, airport construction, bridges, aviation, aerospace, venues and other important industries, as well as mechanical equipment required for various infrastructure projects.
