An upsetting device is a hydraulic equipment specifically used for cold heading high-strength steel wires in prestressed construction. It is used in conjunction with an upsetting anchor to perform pier head treatment on prestressed steel wires. The design and application of upsetting devices are widely used, mainly in pre tensioning or post tensioning prestressing construction, including the upsetting treatment of prestressed steel wire bundles for structures such as bridges, sleepers, poles, large hydraulic press frames, hydraulic buildings, and atomic reactor safety shells. The use of upsetting devices not only improves the anchoring performance of prestressed steel wires, but also enables the full utilization of high-strength steel, making it easier to perform repeated tensioning to compensate for some stress losses.
The working principle of the upsetting device is based on hydraulic power, which is provided by an oil pump to allow oil to enter the cylinder and push the piston, thereby clamping the steel wire with the clamping plate. When a certain pressure is reached, the one-way valve in the sequence valve opens, and the oil enters the inner cavity of the clamping piston, pushing the upsetting piston to upsetting the steel wire. After completing the upsetting process, each component automatically resets under the action of the return spring, completing the entire upsetting process. The design of the upsetting device considers the safety, efficiency, and quality of the operation, ensuring the quality and safety of the prestressing construction.
