Cast iron pulleys are usually cast using sand casting technology. This material has good fluidity during casting and relatively few casting defects, making it an ideal material for making crane pulleys. The advantages of cast iron pulleys include good processability and low wear on steel wire ropes, but the disadvantage is fragility, especially in light and intermediate working levels.
